Welcome to the Wisconsin Chapter of the IFGS
Welcome to the Wisconsin chapter, based in Madison and Milwaukee, of the International Fantasy Gaming Society. We are a not-for-profit organization that produces fantasy-themed Live Action Roleplaying events. Our games are geared towards young and old alike, and provide opportunities for roleplaying, teamwork, safe live (boffer) combat, costuming, props-making, and many other creative outlets. We cordially invite you to come game with us.

First of all, a big welcome to all those we met at OddCon. We had a blast running 8 teams through 2 different games. (Book of Ice and Midnight Shuffle) Thank you to Beth Magness for producing the games, and to Nathan Bethke, Kyle Davis, Jaime Frey, Lelah Jensen, and Michael Magness for staffing.

Things are getting started again this year. We have several people working on new Games for this year. We will be at OddCon again this year running two hour long convention games for people to get a taste of IFGS and hopefully get some new faces out for games.

New Board Elected

The membership has elected a new board for the year. Thank you to Jaime for coordinating elections this year. Thank you to Walter and Becky for being part of the Board last year. The board for next year is Magness, Nathan, Beth, Lelah, and myself. We will have our first board meeting/bar game of the year at the end of this month.

September Game Postponed

After much confusion, scheduling issues, and the plague (H1N1 flu) we will unfortunately be having to postpone this game into October. (weather permitting) The new date is not set in stone, but will most likely be the weekend of the 24th. Sorry for the change of plans.
We will however, be hosting a room game at House Magness on Saturday, September 26th. In addition to the standard Phoenix Inn, there is the possibility of weapon/costume making and/or a one hour mini-game. These supplemental events will depend on when folks want to show up. The Phoenix Inn will be open from 5p until we kick everyone out. If you're interested in doing some weapon/costume making let Magness know and come on out earlier.

It's been a busy IFGS season, we've run 5 games so far. The last outdoor game of the season is planned for the last weekend of September. We'll probably do a few room games over the winter. If anyone has an leads on a low cost indoor site, please send them to the board and we might be able to run a larger game or two over the winter.
Also of note, the Greater Milwaukee Provisional Chapter is up and running. They ran their first game in August and have a second planned for September. Check their website.

Lets face it, beating on each other with foam sticks is an awful lot of fun. To this end we host a weekly practice for folks to come hang out and do just that.
This is largely informal and does not count as an official event. So no game fees, but also no insurance. Participation is "at your own risk".
We start at around 6ish in the afternoon and go until dark. If it is raining we probably won't be sparring, but feel free to come over and we'll figure out something.
